Assembly Theater

Assembly TheaterWe Can’t Reach You, HartfordSaturday 7:30pm, 2nd Floor Five years after it premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, We Can’t Reach You, Hartford comes to New York for the first time for a one-night-only reading. The Assembly’s first project, Hartford investigated one of history’s forgotten disasters: the tragic and mysterious fire that consumed the Ringling Bros.’ Circus in Hartford, CT in the summer of 1944. Our retelling immersed the audience within the ashen remains of the three-ring circus, recreating a history – part real, part imagined – from the fragments of fact and fantasy that remained. The project traveled to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2006, where it was nominated for the coveted Fringe First Award. $10 online and at the door |
